ABBY WOLF is executive director of the Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Duke University and her master’s and doctoral degrees in English at Harvard University. Prior to coming to the Hutchins Center, she was a lecturer in Harvard’s program on History and Literature. She is the editor of the Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Reader (Basic Civitas Books, 2012), and has published articles on subjects including representations of childhood, women’s autobiographical writing, and Victorian and modernist literature.
