Support Our Mission

Enslaved Background Image

Enslaved.org has benefitted from and is grateful for generous funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Effective April 2, 2025, our existing grants were terminated because “The President’s February 19, 2025 executive order mandates that the NEH eliminate all non-statutorily required activities and functions.” The NEH is “repurposing its funding allocations in a new direction in furtherance of the President’s agenda.” Please consider helping us and our partners continue our important work of documenting the lives of named enslaved individuals of African descent. You can do so by giving through the button below.

Contribute Financially to Enslaved.org

One of the most important ways you can help Enslaved.org is through monetary donations. These generous gifts will be the foundational support to help maintain and share this project with the world.

Enslaved.org is housed at Michigan State University's Matrix: Center for Digital Humanities & Social Sciences.

Make a gift online by using your credit card. You will be redirected to our Michigan State University Online Giving Page. Under “Areas to Support” begin typing “Enslaved” and the “Enslaved Digital History Project Fund” will populate. This is where you can make a gift directly to Enslaved.org. Once you’ve selected the fund, follow the directions and you will be led to check out.
